The Semantic Alignment and the Split S or the Split Ergativity capture a very simlilar phenomenon
: S shows two or more traits in terms of alignment. That is to say, in some cases, the S aligns with the A and in the other cases, with the P.
It could fall into the semantic alignment If this split accords with the lexical semantics of the predicate. Cf. Sa and Sp
Otherwise, it is the Split S or the Split Ergativity.
Actually, however, the distinction of the two kinds is not clear.
